Powers Plays Key Role in the Indictment of Terrorists in the Attacks of 9/11/01

Kevin Powers, Lieutenant Commander, U.S. Navy, is an Associate of Cetrulo LLP on leave of absence from the Firm while he provides high-level legal counsel to the Senior Department of Defense Executive (Convening Authority).  That Department is responsible for the oversight and management of Military Commissions regarding complex military security and political concerns involving the detention and prosecution of detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

On April 4, 2012, the U.S. Department of Defense announced that the Convening Authority had referred charges to a military commission in the case of U.S. v. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, and others, with respect to the planning and execution of the September 11, 2001, attacks in New York, Washington and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
