Since joining Cetrulo LLP in 2010, Sean's areas of practice include the defense of complex product liability and toxic tort claims, with a focus on asbestos litigation.
Sean is a member of the firm’s national coordinating counsel team, which manages products liability and toxic tort litigation for a Fortune 400 company in jurisdictions across the country, with a focus on expert witness and corporate representative preparation, drafting and negotiation of global settlement agreements, Sarbanes-Oxley and Medicare compliance. Sean works closely with our clients’ in house counsel on a daily basis to ensure continued success in managing its litigation needs. In addition to his national coordinating counsel responsibilities, Sean also continues to develop extensive experience in civil litigation, regularly conducting fact and expert witness depositions, preparing and arguing various dispositive motions, and negotiation of settlements in cases involving catastrophic injury.
Prior to his time at Cetrulo LLP, Sean had been at one of the world’s largest multi-national corporations, working directly with the company's North American general counsel to research various state and federal regulations, and develop from scratch, company-wide protocols designed to both, ensure compliance with strict government customer purchasing laws, and at the same time maximize the company's ability to aggressively compete in the marketplace. During this time, Sean saw first-hand the necessity and importance of an organized collaborative approach between the general counsel's office and its outside counsel.
During law school Sean participated in the Suffolk University Law School Prosecutors Clinic, working on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Rule 3:03 prosecutor for the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, gaining valuable courtroom experience, including successfully arguing various evidentiary motions, trying cases to verdict and negotiation of plea agreements with both pro-se defendants and individuals represented by counsel.
When away from the office, Sean is an active volunteer participant in his son’s extracurricular activities, serving as the leader of his son’s Cub Scout den and as member of the Cub Scout Pack 95 Leadership Committee, as well as a regular volunteer in his son’s youth sports teams. Sean enjoys travel throughout the United States and abroad, the continued study of world history, and has a life-long passion for music and film. Sean is a member of the firm basketball team, and as a life-long resident of Eastern Massachusetts is a die-hard Boston sports fan.
