Partner Kyle Bjornlund and Associate Michael Leard Speak on Deposition Practice
On February 4, 2016, Partner, Kyle E. Bjornlund, and Associate, Michael J. Leard, spoke on a panel regarding Deposition Practice hosted by the Massachusetts Bar Association. The panel focused on the practical skills and tactical considerations necessary to conduct depositions of party and non-party witnesses and to defend one’s client at deposition. Following the lecture, attendees had the opportunity to put the panelists’ tips to the test during an interactive mock deposition practicum.
Kyle is a partner in the Toxic Tort Litigation group, and is part of a team that represents Fortune 100 companies as local, regional, and national coordinating counsel. Kyle has successfully defended clients in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts, Maine, Missouri, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont in multi-party, multi-jurisdictional, mass tort litigation alleging injuries from exposure to asbestos, lead pigment, benzene, and radiation. Kyle is the Chair of the Toxic Tort Substantive Law Committee of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association.
Mike is a fifth-year associate whose practice focuses in the areas of business litigation, products liability, and pharmaceutical litigation. Mike also has experience counseling clients in environmental and occupational safety and health compliance issues. Mike is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, where he serves on the board of directors for the Young Lawyers Division and as a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation section. Mike also teaches a course in occupational safety and health at Tulane University’s School of Public Health.
